My name is Hannah Perakes. I am a freshman at Florida State University, and I am majoring in Elementary Education. In the future I would like to be an elementary school teacher. For a long time, I wanted to be a psychologist but in the last few years I realized that I wanted to be a teacher.
My whole schooling experience I have used technology. In elementary school I remember the teachers using Smart Boards and they had laptop carts that we would occasionally use. In middle school we did most of our tests and work on laptops. In high school I used a lot of different kinds of technology, especially when quarantine started. We went fully online and used programs such as Google Classroom and Zoom.
I regularly use multiple resources to support my learning needs and goals. Something I use to memorize things for classes is Quizlet. I use the calendar app on my phone as well as a physical planner to keep track of due dates for assignments. I also like to utilize kahoot for studying right before I have a test.
Hi Hannah, do you have any other online and offline spaces you often visit and connect with people to get (or share) more learning resources (e.g., information, knowledge, tools)? If so, what are those spaces? Who are those people? And what specific resources do you share with them? The spaces, people, and resources that I just mentioned comprise your personal learning network. What is the purpose of your PLN?
ReplyDeleteHey Hannah! I am also majoring in Elementary Education and I am super interested in psychology. Smart Boards are so fun and I remember using those in elementary school as well. It sounds like we use a lot of the same technology and have similar PLNs!
ReplyDeleteHi Hannah! Welcome to FSU! I didn't write about smartboards, which is weird because from 3rd grade to now they have been intertwined with my education experience. Zoom is a universal experience at this point. I am very happy to find someone else who uses the calendar app, which is a large part of how I: A.) Keep myself organized and B.) Remember birthdays. I have not thought to use Kahoot for studying, so maybe I will use that sometime.
